Since October, the inaugural members of Hawthorne Elementary’s Ruling Our Experiences (ROX) girls group have been gathering each week to explore topics to help them navigate relationships, experiences and decisions.
Throughout the week, students, teachers and staff across Westerville City Schools have celebrated Veterans Day by honoring those who served with school displays, recognition events and other activities. School staff at several buildings welcomed veterans and families connected to the military for school-wide assemblies and class visits on Friday.
Westerville community members interested in acquiring skills needed to help prevent suicide can participate in a virtual training hosted by Westerville City Schools, in partnership with the Westerville Education Challenge.
Alisa Franklin stood at the corner of the gym as fifth-graders from Jenny Findell’s class walked towards her, grabbing a spot in front of a large screen.

Members of the Westerville North High School boys soccer team kicked off their first team event on Friday by helping Robert Frost Elementary’s PTA clear up the school’s garden beds for the start of the year.
